Embracing God’s Love to Build Harmonious Families and to Serve the Communities
The theme of our 70th Anniversary was “Through Love, We Know Love”, which are the words of Blessed Mary of the Passion, the Foundress of our School Sponsoring Body, Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM). Time flies. 5 years have passed. Here comes our 75th Anniversary. It seems like a new age is embarked, not just with the advancement in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Metaverse, but also with a “new normal”. This “new normal” affects every one of us as we keep adapting to different changes and contingency plans every day. The pandemic has created a new pattern in life. Despite the various changes and challenges, what remains unchanged is the love in mankind. It is with love that we can combat, connect, grow and thrive. “Embracing God’s Love to Build Harmonious Families and to Serve the Communities” is our 75th Anniversary theme. We strongly believe that with the love of our families, friends, teachers, schoolmates, colleagues and above all, the love of God, we can live a truthful life and continue to serve our communities. “Through Charity to Truth”, in Latin, “Per Caritatem Ad Veritatem”, is our school motto.
Our 75th Anniversary Logo was designed by one of our Form 1 (2021-2022) students. Potential is to be unleashed.
Our school provides the stage for students to showcase their talents in different areas. The awards they received are a good proof of the beautiful work of our students and teachers and great collaboration and team spirit. To name some, in HKDSE 2022, Nicole Ho (Form 6E) received Level 5 and above for ALL the 8 subjects she took. in the Grantham Scholars of the Year which is awarded to students with all-round achievements. Among the nominees from all the secondary schools in Hong Kong, there are only 24 recipients each year. Josephine Lam, our graduate, was awarded this title. Our girls had received this honour for a number of years.
Besides the academic achievements, in the Orbis Students Ambassadors Programme, our Orbis Students Ambassadors won the Outstanding Fundraising Project Award and the Social Media Influence Award. In the Hong Kong Secondary Schools Debate Competition, our Chinese Debating Team won the First Runner-up and our student won the Best Debater. In the View Win Chinese Instrumental Contest 2021-2022, our Chinese Orchestra won the Gold Prize. In the 2021/22 Chinese Talent Competition for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students, one of our NCS students won the First Runner-up, and the other two got Merit Award. In the “KOL in School – Learning Chinese through Food Program” organized by the Institute for Integrated Rural Development Hong Kong”, two of our Form 3 students won the Best Creativity Award in the Video-taking Competition.. In the Shatin Joint Secondary and Primary Schools Leadership Programme, our Form 3 student won the Most Outstanding Teen Award.
The above snapshots signify the fruitful learning experiences of our students. Staying mentally and physically strong can help one to move forward. We hope everyone can make good use of the learning opportunities provided by our school and the community to live a healthy and joyful life.
May God bless us all.
