Welcome to the 2026–2027 academic year. As we step into a new season of growth and grace, we anchor our heart and mission in walking "the path of life" and "the path of love." These two guiding journeys define our dedication to nurturing compassionate, wise, and resilient young women ready to illuminate the world.

 

Looking back at the past academic year, we are filled with immense gratitude. The Education Bureau’s External School Review (ESR) conducted in November 2025 served as an encouraging endorsement of our school's dedication. The report affirmed the unwavering commitment of our teachers, the vitality of our learning environment, and the holistic growth of our students. This recognition belongs to our entire community—our past and present School Sponsoring Body Sisters, teachers, staff, students, parents, and alumni. You are the true cornerstones of our school, and your selfless devotion over the decades continues to sustain our success.

 

In line with this spirit of community, we are delighted to announce that our School Sponsoring Body has officially appointed St. Rose of Lima's College Alumni Association Limited as the Recognized Alumni Association (RAA) of St. Rose of Lima's College with effect from 8^th August 2026. This marks an exciting new chapter for our school community. We extend our warmest welcome to the new Alumni Association and look forward to working closely with them to unite past students across the globe in support of the growth of our school and students. At the same time, we express our sincere appreciation to St. Rose of Lima’s School Past Students' Association (PSA) for its many years of service to our school community over the decades.

 

As we look ahead, the 2026–2027 academic year marks a meaningful prelude to two major milestones: the 150th Anniversary of our School Sponsoring Body (Franciscan Missionaries of Mary), themed "Here I am", and our upcoming 80th School Anniversary carrying the profound theme, “Here I am. My End is Love”, in the 2027–2028 academic year. These dual celebrations offer a sacred time to gather our stakeholders in thanksgiving, celebrating our shared legacy while looking forward to a bright future.

 

To equip our girls for an ever-changing world, our school continues to advance three key areas of major concern. First, we place deep value on enhancing national and global citizenship by instilling a strong sense of Chinese cultural identity and national pride in our students, while simultaneously expanding their international horizons. For Hong Kong youngsters today, grounding themselves in their rich cultural roots while embracing their role as responsible global citizens provides the moral compass and global perspective needed to thrive. To broaden their perspectives, we organize Mainland study tours across various regions of China as well as overseas visits. Students also gain valuable insights into discipline and public service through unique local learning experiences, such as attending the Hong Kong Police College Passing-out Parade, visiting special police units, and participating in the 5th Anniversary Ceremony of the Tripartite Canine Partnership and the Aviation Security Company Limited (AVSECO) Canine Unit at the airport. Complementing these initiatives, our middle managers engaged in a Staff Development Day on "Crisis and Change Management" with AVSECO to share best practices in preparing our staff and students for future challenges.

 

 

 

 

 

Second, we remain devoted to promoting a healthy lifestyle and well-being through Positive Education, nurturing well-rounded individuals who possess emotional resilience, a positive mindset, and physical well-being. Third, we focus on enhancing self-regulated learning to empower our students to take ownership of their intellectual journey, cultivating curiosity and lifelong learning habits.

 

In line with our academic vision, our school has successfully joined the "AI for Empowering Learning and Teaching Funding Programme". This initiative will strengthen our students’ AI literacy across multiple subjects and support the professional development of our teachers in generative AI and classroom integration, ensuring our teaching practices remain innovative and impactful.

 

Amidst the complex challenges of the modern world, we remain steadfast in guiding our students forward. We take inspiration from the words of Pope Leo XIV during his Mass at Castel Gandolfo on 29^th August 2026, reminding us "to have faith, to pray, so that (we) might find peace and together with Him, continue sailing toward the desired destination." Guided by faith and unity, we will sail together against any tide.

 

The true testament to our "path of life and love" shines through the brilliant achievements of our girls. Demonstrating deep civic pride and cultural appreciation, our National Flag Raising Team won the Championship at the Flag Raising Competition organized by the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association, with every synchronized step expressing their devotion to our country, our National Flag, and our school. Furthermore, artworks created by our Form 4 students were selected for display at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre as part of the "Expanding the Splendour of Xi’an and Dunhuang" exhibition, showcasing their creative talent and deep connection to Chinese heritage.
